Aerobics 2--Spinning
In spinning I was required to come to class and have a good perceived level of effort. There was also an optional playlist assignment for extra credit and a lifelong wellness reflection.

What did you learn about "LifeLong Wellness" from taking this activity class?
Physical activity is a major part of wellness. Wellness is defined as the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort. The power you feel in your body and your mind after a hard work out is incredible. It’s the feeling that you can accomplish anything. I started to lose that feeling of power before I took spinning. I could have felt down on myself for not working out but instead I just recovered and forced myself to do something hard.
How would you apply this information to your life?
Wellness is mostly mental. I had major depression for 8 years and even though I was in great physical shape I felt so weak and had no overall wellness. Breaking the cycle of my major depression required changing my outlook when I wasn’t working out, when I wasn’t strong. When I get an injury or set myself back now a days I know the weak thing to do is feel down on myself, I have to just do what I can and bring myself back to strength. This is how I can have lifelong wellness, by never succumbing to doubt or shame.
What is your intention to continue exercise in your life and why?
I intend to keep working out at some level for the rest of my life. I have limited choices for stress relief so exercise is my main outlet. You can’t have complete wellness without a healthy body. Exercising can give you more energy, reduce convalescence and illness, and an increase in confidence. I’ve had entire years of my life where I couldn’t function due to injury. Being able to exercise is a gift not a chore.
